Boyd R. "Dutch" Ash, 71, of Craigsville died Oct. 1, 1997, in a Fairlea hospital after a long illness.

He was retired from the Army with 23 years' service and was a member of Odd Fellows and First Baptist Church, Craigsville.

Surviving: son, David of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters, Tammy Bellew and Kathy Ash Naylor, both of Craigsville; four grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Sommerville officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Charleston National Guard, will be in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. There will be no visitation. Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Ronald McDonald House, 2224 South Jefferson St., Roanoke, Va. 24014.
