He served as Postmaster at Bethlehem, owned and operated Carroll's Grocery Store in Bethlehem and Carroll's Floor Sanding. He was an avid fisherman and was a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Commercial Waterman's Association. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1520 in Easton. His most recent pastime was meeting at McDonald's at Walmart in Easton.
