Kenneth Lee Littleford

There was rejoicing in heaven Saturday morning, July 16, when Kenneth Lee Littleford passed from earth to his heavenly home.

He was met there by his wife Beverly, infant son David, and other family members who had gone on before. Most importantly, he finally got to see his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who he faithfully served as a preacher for over 50 years.

While heaven welcomes this faithful servant, we mourn the loss of a beloved father, grandfather, brother and pastor. We remember the father who always had an encouraging word, the grandfather who took us on long walks, the man with a dry sense of humor, the checkers champ, and the small town pastor who was never too busy to serve the members of his church. Kenneth was a strong man whose priority was preaching the cross of Christ, ministering to his congregation, and loving his family. He provided his children and grandchildren with an example of a godly man while still demonstrating his humanity with a strong sense of humor.

Born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee, Kenneth came to know the Lord while attending Central Christian Church. Giving up his early dream of being a criminologist, Kenneth decided instead to become a preacher. He enrolled in Lincoln Bible College where he met his future wife, Beverly. He went on to attend St. Louis Christian College while serving as interim preacher in several churches in the area.

Kenneth went on to pastor congregations throughout the Midwest, Northeast, and South, serving the Lord until ill health forced his retirement while pastoring in Bristol, Virginia. Even in retirement, he continued to serve his fellow residents at the assisted living facility where he spent the last years of his life.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Patty Anthony, daughters, Shari and Bob Miller, Lori and Stephen Lennon, Carol and Ray Hubbard and Karen Roberson. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 19 at 3:00 at Weaver Funeral Home.
