Marshall Callahan, 69, of 6975 S. Shields Ridge Road, died Tuesday at his residence.

He was born Oct. 3, 1908, in Jackson County, the son of Thomas and Ora (Henderson) Callahan. He was a retired stone worker at the Maple Hill Quarry and was of the Pentecostal Faith. Hew as an army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby (Fleetwood); eight daughters, Faye Eads, May Tate, Thelma Flynn, Kay Bland, Mary Duncan, Fern Sturgis, and Ruthie Barrow, all of Bloomington; and Loretta Callahan, at home; two sons, Marion and Raymond, both at home; one sister, Carrie Cheek of Franklin; one stepsister, Alice Marie Hilderbrand of Freetown; six setpbrothers, Robert, Paul and Chlora Hilderbrand, all of Bedford, Kenneth Hilderbrand of Freetown, Billy Hilderbrand of Franklin and George Hilderbrand of Columbus; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil, two sisters, Clara Deckard and Clarisa Callahan, and by one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Allen Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Fred Stanger officiating. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
