She received art training at the International Correspondence Schools in Scranton, and may have taken art classes during her years in New York City.
She taught art at the I.C.S., worked as an assistant librarian and commercial artist at the Scranton Public Library and as a staff artist for the Eureka Specialty Printing Co. in Dunmore.

ELIZABETH ARTHUR TAKEN BY DEATH
Miss Elizabeth Estelle Arthur, Centreville, MD, a former Scranton resident, died unexpectedly yesterday at Memorial Hospital, Easton, MD.
A native of New York City, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Ostrander Arthur. She later resided in this city. She was a retired commercial artist.
Miss Arthur is survived by a niece, Mrs. George Herde, Centreville, with whom she resided.
The body has been moved to the Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., where friends may call tomorrow night from 7 to 9.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 AM from the funeral home with the Rev. Arthur H. Salin, pastor, Asbury Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery (Lot No. 1053).
