Rev. Samuel Ballinger, long a well known resident of Franklin township died Sunday at the home of a daughter at Upland. He and Mrs. Ballinger went there last spring on an extended visit. They were abut ready to return home when he was taken sick. He was seventy-one years of age, and during his residence in the county more than a quarter of a century has officiated at numerous church services, weddings and funerals. His funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, with services at Center church in Franklin township at which he has ministered. The remains were brought here from Upland and taken directly to the church. Interment was given in the adjacent cemetery.
