Francisco Diaz, age 91, died peacefully in his home in Manitowoc, WI on Wednesday morning, October 1, 2014. He and his family lived in Lexington, NE for a number of years.
He was born on June 8, 1923 in Tejamen, Durango, Mexico, son of the late Ignacio Diaz and Maria de la Luz Andrade. On December 29, 1966, he married Sara Molina Lopez in Mexico. They immigrated to the United States and later became citizens in 1988.
He was a loving husband and caring father. He was generous in advice, had a strong work ethic and was considered the family patriarch. He instilled in his children the value of loyalty and love. He was happiest surrounded by a vibrant family gathering filled with laughter and good food.
Survivors include his wife, four sons and daughters-in-law, two daughters and one son-in-law,nine grandchildren,Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Jesus, Fidel and Pablo; and four sisters: Teresa, Sofia, Dolores, Maria Anastacia, and Maria Guadalupe.
The Diaz Family would like to thank Dr. Cedric Thayer, Aurora Two Rivers Clinic, Aurora VNA Hospice including Carolyn, Dawn, Elisabeth, Pam, Sam, Sheila, Terri and Val for Francisco's care.
