Martin Edward Abbott
April 3, 1956 - July 19, 2016

Martin Edward Abbott, cherished son, husband, father, and brother, died on July 19, 2016, of cancer. Martin was 60. He was a devoted husband and father and a much-loved son and brother. Martin was an insanely devoted GA Bulldog fan, dedicated Braves fan, and optimistic Falcons fan. He told his family a few weeks ago that the one thing he really wanted to see before he passed was the Bulldogs winning the National Championship (again), the Braves winning the World Series (again), and the Falcons winning the Super Bowl. If there was anything he loved more than sports, it was his music. He was an exceptional drummer and dedicated his life to the music profession at an early age. He received his first set of drums when he was 12 years old, and his path was set. Over the years he played in more bands than you could shake a drumstick at.

Born April 3, 1956, in Marietta Georgia to Joe and Nell (Suttles) Abbott, Martin is survived by his mother, his wife Deborah, his daughter Brittany (Jon) Ward, his son Nathan, his sister Kathy (Steve) Womack and his brother Jody (Vaidehi).

A Graveside Service will be held at Marietta City Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, at the Due West United Methodist Church, 3956 Due West Road, Marietta, GA 30064, Building C.
