Gary J. Messman, age 63, of 5925 Johnston Drive, Two Rivers, died on September 1, 2012 at his residence with his family at his side.
Gary was born on August 20, 1949 in Two Rivers, son of the late John and Emily (Wetmore) Messman. He was a graduate from Washington High School with the class of 1967. On April 13, 1974 he married his high school sweetheart, the former Mary Ploor at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. Gary worked as a machinist at Kahlenberg Brothers for over 26 years and later founded G.T. Machine with his friend and partner Tom Jachimstal where he worked from April 1, 1998 until his death. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, snowmobiling, riding his Harley and working on his Corvette, tinkering in his garages and going up north to his cottage in Door County. Gary loved spending time with his family and always looked forward to his weekend dinners with his wife and children.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Messman, Two Rivers; two daughters and one son-in-law: Brianne Messman and her significant other Nathan Tetzlaff, Two Rivers, Samantha and Zach Green, Mishicot; his three grand dogs: Lily, Kaya and Lenny; one sister: Cheryl (Kevin) Perry, Two Rivers; one brother: Danny (Mary Lou) Messman, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law: Jackie Hall, Two Rivers, Jeannie Messman, Green Bay. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one brother: Jack Messman; one nephew: Steven Messman and his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Fritz and Agnes Niesing.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Arndt with burial to follow.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, from 9:00a.m. until 10:45a.m.
