One year ago last November Miss Stella A. Stafford of this city was married to Merchant E. Austin and removed to Chicago, where Mr. Austin engaged very successfully in the drug business. This morning Mrs. Austin died at the residence of her grandfather, Daniel Clow, aged twenty five years, six months, and 26 days. She came home for a short visit only two weeks ago and was almost immediately taken ill with bronchitis, and soon after gave birth to a little child which did not survive. She struggled bravely for life, but as it became evident that her condition was most critical she faced the issue calmly and peacefully and was sustained to the end by a firm and unwavering faith in Christ. The Chicago home of Mr. and Mrs. Austin was an exceptionally happy one, almost ideal in its unity and affection, and the deepest sympathy will be felt for the bereaved husband, and also for the sorrowing mother and grandfather, the light of whose home seems to have gone out in darkness. While a young lady in Janesville Mrs. Austin developed fine artistic ability which she had farther cultivated during her residence in Chicago, her last work being excellent portraits of herself, her husband and her mother. By her bright ways and ready sympathies she has endeared to herself a large circle of friends who will deeply mourn her loss. Funeral services will be held at the old home on South Academy street at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
