Emil Schleis Sr., 87, a former Mishicot resident, died Saturday, Feb. 5, at
Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot. The
Rev. Richard Allen will officate and burial will be in Mishicot public cemetery.
Mr. Schleis was born April 17, 1895, at Norman, son of the late Frank and Mary
Melihar Schleis. He married Carrie Soucoup, July 12, 1916, at Manitowoc. The
couple farmed in the Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, until moving to Mishicot
in 1950. Mr. Schleis was an active musician all his life and played with the Don
Schlies orchestra for 27 years.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Emil and Grace Schleis of Mishicot;
three daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and James Anderle and Gladys and Daniel
Nejedlo of Mishicot and Janice and Gordon Pautz of Two Rivers; 11 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oct. 18, 1980,
a sister and a brother.
