Henry Preston Crocheron, 85, passed away at the residence, 856 Chestnut Street, early Sunday afternoon from a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock with the Rev. Ivan H. Trusler, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating, assisted by Dr. L.O. Leavell, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Forrest cemetery with Woodliff directing.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lee Whorton; three grandchildren, Miss Mary Whorton and Merrill Whorton of Gadsden and Preston Whorton of Philadelphia, Penn.; one nephew, J. McCrea Crocheron of Gadsden.
Mr. Crocheron was born in Wetumpka, moving to Gadsden 50 years ago and was actively engaged in the mercantile business. For the past 16 years he has been retired.
He had been a member of the Presbyterian church since childhood and for many years was an eldger.
