She was born to Orville and Goldie (Scheer) Clum. On July 27, 1953, she married Vernon T. Berning, who is deceased.
Survivors include a son, Jack (Judy), Marblehead; two daughters, Jean Beech, Marion, Joan (Michael) Windsor, Dublin; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, LaRue Clum, Wapakoneta; a brother-in-law, Marion "Moose" Berning, Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by a son, James; two brothers, Leon and Jack Clum; and a sister, Marcella Fisher.
Mrs. Berning retired in 1992 after 38 years service with Trim Trends, Spencerville. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, Auxiliary, and Knights of Columbus, Council #1272, Auxiliary, all of Wapakoneta.
