Janice H. Sy, age 78, a former Valders, Wisconsin resident, passed away July 14, 2016 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Janice was born March 2, 1938 in Wisconsin Rapids, daughter of the late Vira Jagoditch Ziemer and Richard "Brick" Jagoditch. She was a graduate of Oshkosh High School with the Class of 1956. On June 29, 1959, Jan and Gary were married in Dubuque, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband: Gary Sy, Alamogordo, New Mexico; three daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie & Robert "Doc" Kopidlansky, Whitelaw, Diane & Lyle Propson, Hilbert, and Julie & Rodger Urbanek, De Pere; one son and daughter-in-law: Douglas & Nancy Sy, Valders; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Doreen Evans, Spring Hill, Florida, and Joan & Keith Spalding, Appleton; one brother and sister-in-law: Donald & Janet Jagoditch, Post Lake, Wisconsin; brother-in-law: Roger Schmuhl, Spring Hill, Florida; a special sister-in-law: Patricia Hess, Appleton; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Simone & Marvin Pagel, New Holstein. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She is further preceded in death by two sisters: Patricia Schmuhl and Margaret Jagoditch.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church (2501 Collins Road) Officiating at the service will be Rev. Robert Weiss. Burial will follow the service at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Collins.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church (2501 Collins Road).
A memorial fund has been established in Janice's name.
