Alvin was born in Blackburn, Oklahoma, December 25, 1926 to C.O. and Pearl Perry Burge. He married Billie C. Hill on February 20, 1954, and they raised two sons together. Alvin retired from Texas Electric Service Company and was a longtime member of Highland Heights Christian Church and First Christian Church, where he served as a Life Term Diaconate. He served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Army.
Alvin was involved in Little League Sports with both his sons, and served as Scout Master with Troop 15. His favorite past time was watching his grandchildren’s activities.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dora Burge, brothers; Earl and Milton Burge, sisters; Ina Mae Porter, Delores Higgins, and Rhella Stains.
Alvin is survived by his two sons; Howard Hill, Jeff Burge and wife Debra. Seven grandchildren; Steven Hill and wife Karen, Melissa Sadberry, John Hill and wife Kim, Darren Hill, Russell Hill and wife Katie, Matt Burge and wife Whitney, and Abbey Burge. Also 17 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Alvin is also survived by his sisters; Donna Smith and husband Fred, Betty Kempf, Sandy Roe and husband Ken, Inlaws: H.R. Cunningham and wife Dianna, and Betty Goode, and many nieces and nephews.
