Born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., on Sept. 26, 1932, he was a son of the late Louis and Rose (George) Orse.
Mr. Orse was a middle-school teacher in the Upper Merion Area School District for 37 years where he also coached basketball and softball and was an athletic director until his retirement in 1992. He was honored in the Upper Merion Wall of Fame in 1997 and was a PIAA and ASA softball official.
He attended Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia and was a member of St. Valentines Club, Triple 'S' Club, Maria Assunta and the Garibaldi Association. Mr. Orse was also a US Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1957. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. We will miss him dearly.
Surviving are his loving family including his wife of 52 years, A. Gloria (Montecalvo) Orse; a son, Joseph A. Orse and his wife, Kathy, of Bridgeport; a daughter, JoAnn Orse Martin and her husband, John, of Hummelstown, Pa; four grandchildren, David and Chrissy Orse and Dan and Suzy Martin; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Orse and a sister, Gina Eckrote.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd. King of Prussia on Thursday, May 28 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. John T. Conway, Pastor, will officiate. Viewings will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:20 a.m. at the Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport.
Entombment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery Mausoleum, King of Prussia.
