Elfa was born on August 12, 1923 to Herman and Hulda (Riebel) Rabold in S. St. Paul, MN. She grew up in the St. Paul area. She married Lester “Bud” Brenke on October 17, 1947 in Le Sueur, MN. Elfa worked as a nanny and helped her husband, Bud at the Green Mill Bar that they owned for many years. She was also a wonderful seamstress and especially enjoyed altering clothing. Elfa took much pride and comfort in her flower bed at home. She was an American Legion Auxiliary member and longtime member of Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. She had a warm and welcoming soul and befriended everybody.
She is survived by her sisters, Bernice Shellenbarger of Inver Grove Hts, MN & JoAnn Guerin of St. Paul, MN. Sister-in-Law, Florence Gordon of Le Sueur, MN. Also survived by other close friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, “Bud” in May of 2006; 2 brothers and a 3 sister.
