Services Held Friday For M. D. Dover
Funeral services for Meredith David W. Dover, 78, of Alto, were held Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Maydelle with the Rev. James Blaylock and Don Copeland officiating. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery. Mr. Dover passed away March 10 at Nan Travis Memorial Hospital after a four week illness.
He was a resident of Cherokee County for 39 years, a retired farmer and rancher and a vetran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sibyl Whitten Dover of Alto; Five sons, Mack and George Dover of Rusk, Thomas Dover of Maydelle, David Dover of Gallitin, and Carroll Dover of Diaboll; four daughters, Bonnie Shuptrine of Kingsville, Mae Beth Bingham of Maydelle, Mozelle Alexander of Rusk, and Myra Fulton of Otey; 25 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one brother, J.H. of Crockett.
Pallbearers were Cullen Sherman; Bobby Ezell; R.E. French; Harvey Langston; Pierce Crawford and Ray Sides.
