She married James Hamilton, a Scottish immigrant, on 13 Mar 1916 in Ogden, Utah. The couple had no children of their own, but Jim had a daughter from a previous marriage.
Jim and Katie move to Oakland, California about 1925 when other extended family members were moving west. They moved on to ElCerrito about 10 years later, then to Petaluma.
Katie was survived by her sister Janet. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; her parents; and her brothers: James and John. Katie was buried near her husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland.
