Frank White was the first husband of legendary comedienne/actress Fanny Brice.

She was part of a traveling burlesque show, "The College Girls," when they apparently met in Albany, NY. After a quick courtship, they were married on February 14, 1910 in Springfield Massachusetts, but she left him a couple days later and they were officially divorced in 1913.

In June 1910, just a few months after this brief marriage, she was appearing in Ziegfeld's "The Follies of 1910" and her photo appeared in some newspapers around the country identifying her as a new star.

The marriage register in the City of Springfield, Massachusetts lists the February 14, 1910 marriage of:

Frank White, age 31, the son of Charles White and Emma Wilbur
Born in Central Bridge, NY
Current residence: the Kenmore Hotel in Albany NY
Occupation: Barber

and

Fannie Borach, age 19, the daughter of Charles Borach and Rose Stern
Born in New York City
Current residence: 154 W. 128th St., NYC
Occupation: Theatrical business

In 1911, it was reported she had filed for alimony and in August 1912 it was reported she had filed for divorce, stating she had lived with him for only two days.

In February 1913, news articles reported that she was granted a divorce and highlighted her comment that she married him because she didn't have anything else to do that day. Years later, in commenting on her three marriages, she is alleged to have said that she married him because he smelled so good.

When Frank White died in 1940, small wire service items were published in some newspapers around the country. Larger articles were published on February 7, 1940 in the major newspapers of his home region:

Schenectady Gazette: "Frank White dies in Florida"
Times-Union (Albany): "White, first husband of stage star, dies"
Knickerbocker News (Albany): "Fannie Brice's ex-mate dies"
Times Record (Troy): "Former husband of Fannie Brice dead in Florida"

According to these articles, Frank White was born in Schoharie County. His family moved to Schenectady, and he later went to Albany, where he was a barber at the Hotel Ten Eyck.

He returned to Schenectady where he had barber shops on Wall Street and at the Mohawk hotel on Broadway. He later moved to Tannersville, in the Catskills, where he operated a small hotel and engaged in real estate activities. When he moved to Florida, he was in charge of a winter resort hotel.

He died Monday Feb. 5th in Daytona Beach, Florida. His funeral service was to be held on Feb. 8th at the Schenectady home of his sister Mrs. Frank Sheedy, with burial in Vale cemetery. He was survived by his three siblings: brother, Lee C. White, and sisters Mildred White (of NYC) and Mrs. Frank Sheedy.

Three of these articles note that old-timers remembered the backstage party and wedding celebrations at a theater in Schenectady. Perhaps there was an engagement party, but a marriage celebration would not have been held in Schenectady given the show's known schedule.

According to news reports and advertisements, the show The College Girls was performed during this time period at the following locations:
Schenectady, NY: Mohawk Theater, Jan. 31 – Feb. 2
Albany, NY: Empire Theater, Feb. 3 – Feb 5
Boston, MA: Waldron's Casino Theatre, Feb. 7 – Feb. 12
Springfield, MA: Gilmore Theater, Feb. 14 – Feb. 16
Holyoke, MA: Empire Theater, Feb. 17 - Feb. 19
