ROGER DICKERT passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 24, 2016, at the age of 77. He was born in Manitowoc on October 11, 1938, to Harold and Anne Dickert.

He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1956 and then from Manitowoc Teachers College. In 1957, he married the love of his life Marilyn Miller, falling one day short of their 59th wedding anniversary.

Roger began his career in education as a teacher at Jonesville School and then Clarendon Avenue School.

He became assistant principal, and then in 1973, became the principal. In 1991, he became the principal of the newly built Section School, where he retired in 1999 after 41 years in education and 31 years as an administrator.

His civic commitment to the community included member and president of the Mukwonago Jaycees; member of the Jaycee Exhausted Roosters; longtime Village of Mukwonago Public Library board member; and member, usher and school board president of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School. He was an avid golfer and member at Lake Beulah Country Club and a past Flight A champion. In retirement, his golf passion brought him to love working at Broadlands Golf Club as a ranger/starter.

Over the years, he loved watching his kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren in any activities they were involved in, from sports to theater to dancing.

Roger was the loving husband of Marilyn (Miller); amazing dad of Jeff (Lorna), Jill (Hayes) Davis, Jodie (Scott) Drewiske, JoEllen (Adam) Sturtz and Julie (David) Kopsi; adored grandpa of Jesse, Jacob, Jenna, Jameson, Danielle, Lexi, Cooper, Sarah, Mallorie, Kendall, Annie, Korrissa, Lila and Libby; loving great-grandpa of 12 with three on the way; and dearest brother of Glenn (Mary), Gary (Kathy), and his deceased sister and brother-in-law Bev and Dick Hagen. Roger will be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.
