Eugene G. Mleziva, age 87, of Manitowoc and formerly of Maribel, died Monday morning, July 25, 2016 at River’s Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center where he resided since March.
Eugene was born on June 17, 1929 in the town of Gibson, son of the late Stephen and Bessie (Zeman) Mleziva. He attended area schools. On June 21, 1952, Eugene was married to the former Elverda J. Ollmann at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Maribel. The couple recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. The couple farmed in the town of Cooperstown until 1987 when they moved to Manitowoc. Eugene worked for MCM in Manitowoc from 1989 until his retirement in 1994. He was a loyal and faithful member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc and former member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Maribel.
Survivors include his wife: Elverda J. Mleziva, Manitowoc; his four children and their spouses: Richard W. (Cindy) Mleziva, Manitowoc; Julianne (Richard A.) Rehborg, Maribel; Michael P. (Sue) Mleziva, Manitowoc; Lori (Joseph) Krcma, Maribel; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Mleziva, Boise, ID; Jeanette Bell, MI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents: Stephen and Bessie Mleziva; his five siblings and their spouses: Lillian (Leo) Rezek; Adolph (Olive) Mleziva; Louie (Lillian) Mleziva; Rudolph (Helen) Mleziva; Robert Mleziva; one brother-in-law, Patrick Bell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc. The Rev. Beck Goldbeck will officiate with burial at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Maribel.
