LaVon K. Crosby, age 92, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. She was born on April 25, 1924 in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles and Kathryn Kehoe.

She was Honorary Chair of the Nebraska Cultural Endowment. District 29 Nebraska State Senator 1989-2001. Manager of the Lincoln Symphony. Staff member for US Senator Roman Hruska. Executive Assistant to Hastings Tribune Publisher Fred Seaton.

Lavon was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, and a graduate and Valedictorian of Hastings St. Cecilia's. She was a longtime parishioner and supporter of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, Catholic Social Services, and other charities.

Lavon was a champion for the arts and humanities, and was an accomplished musician. Counselor for commonsense governing. Always an avid community volunteer. Always a friend to the child in need.

Survived by: brother/sister-in-law, Monty and Therese Kehoe; children, Mary and Bob Bolin, Mike Stuart; Tim Stuart, Fred and Willo Stuart, Bob and Char Crosby, and Sue and Frank Smith; grandchildren, Charlie, Alice, and Tom Bolin, Anderson Stuart, Molly Crosby Pellettiere, Ann Crosby, Kathy Crosby White, Jacqueline Crosby Martin, Doug, Bob, and Shari Smith; great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Les Stuart; husband, Bob Crosby; brother, Billy Kehoe; and sister, Mary Simpkins.

Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska.
