He was a faithful member of Westwood Baptist Church and graduated from high school in Pearl, Mississippi in 1954.
He served in the US Air Force from 1945 until 1958. He was a mold maker for Knox Glass for 27 years and retired after 15 years with Texas Department of Corrections.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joyce Rogers Miller; son, Brett Miller (Joan); daughters Phyllis Howell (Johnny) and Sharon Richardson (Clay) and their mother Anne Brown; Randy Bowden (Tracy), Candace Cutler (Marvin).
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patsy Hemphill and Elizabeth Jones.
