PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: She had light brown hair. Blue Gray eyes and a fair complexion.

Sarah Ann (Morris) Swallow, lived with her husband and family at 17 Park Street in Spencer, MA. My father Calvin Swallow lived with them. He was their grandson. Calvin remembered what a good cook his grandmother was. Sometimes he would help her gather dandelion greens in the field to have with dinner. He said they tasted like spinach.

SPENCER, April 12, 1937. Mrs. Sarah (Morris) Swallow, 64, wife of George H. Swallow, Sr., died this afternoon at her home, Park street. She was a native of Enfield, Conn., but had lived in Spencer for 30 years. She was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary, American Legion, of Spencer. Besides her husband, she leaves seven daughters, Mrs. Ruth I. Eastwood of Worcester, Mrs. Ethel B. Talbot, Mrs,. Bertha A. Scott, Mrs. Mildred Putnam, Mrs. Emily L. Snow, Misses Lavinia and Elizabeth V. Swallow, all of Spencer; three sons, William E. of Spencer, Harold E. and George H. Jr., of Hartford, Conn.; a sister, Miss. Elizabeth Fielding of Hartford, and 12 grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Kingsley Funeral Home, 163 Main street. Rev. Herbert F. Fulton, pastor of the Methodist Church of which she was a member, will officiate. The burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. The calling hours Tuesday at the Kingsley Funeral Home are from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 10 p.m.
