Ernestine H. Phillips, age 83, passed away on Thursday, July 28th in Batesville. She was born at Mt. Pleasant, AR on March 3, 1933 to Estellee Helm Hatfield and Ernest Hatfield. She married Homer L. ''Vern'' Phillips on June 8, 1952 and they had one daughter, Robin.

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She attended the Little Rock Trade School and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock before moving to Batesville in 1971. She then worked at the North Arkansas Clinic Hospital until medical retirement.

She was a Lifetime Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She was a member of the Faith-Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, sang in the church choir, and worked at church camp.

She and her husband moved to Garland TX in 1994. She enjoyed the activities at the Garland Senior Center. She also was an avid Dallas Mavericks fan, Razorbacks fan, and NASCAR fan.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Hedstrom and fiancé Alan Young of Ft. Worth TX; nieces, Lee Scott of Elkins, Arkansas, Tammy Pollard and Lisa Spohr of Batesville, Arkansas, Beverly Erwin of Ellsberry, Missouri, and Neva Wayman of Little Rock, Arkansas; nephews Harold Marlin of Springdale, Arkansas, and Tim Hatfield of Cave City, Arkansas, and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vern, an infant child, her parents, her brother Hugh Hatfield, and sisters Eva Marlin, Edith McSpadden, and Nellie Qualls.

Pallbearers will be Gary Anderson, Donald Anderson, Bob Spohr, Mel Naslund, Tim Hatfield and Fred Sifford. Honorary pallbearers are Euell Hatfield, Jack Helm, Marshall Hatfield, Jack Scott, Eric Terry, Tom Guynes, James Keffer, Jacob Keffer, Jeff Raine, Tom Glick, Dwayne Maynard, Tom & Debbie Lawhon, Jack Puckett, Randall Coe, Gary Rhodes, Ed McAdam, Bart Tarver, Tom Leaverton, Grant Leaverton, David McCabe, and Son Lamb.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 30th at Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville from 6-8 pm.

Services will be on Sunday July 31st at 2pm at Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rian Puckett and Rev. Wayne Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Maxville Cemetery in Cave City.
