Cathy Cogswell, age 70 of Newton, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 1pm at the First Baptist Church of Newton.
Burial to follow at Newton Cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5~7pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton.
A lifelong resident of Newton, she was born in Houston on June 27, 1946 to J.L. and Charlie Gibson Brown.
She was a 1965 graduate of Newton High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Newton.
She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years Barney Cogswell of Newton; son Greg Cogswell of Vidor, Texas and grandchildren Jake, Hannah, Brad, Caitlyn and Cameron; as well as great grandchildren Alex & Allie.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Courtney Trent and grandchildren Alex and Olivia Trent, her parents, sister, Patricia Wayne Brown Rhone and her brother, Joel Brown.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Newton
