Nelson, Lois E.

Lois E. Nelson, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

She was born on December 19, 1928 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank George and Laurine (Christenson) Johnson. Lois graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in June of 1947. She was employed at Erdman Ford until she married Wallace F. Nelson on May 19, 1951 in Manitowoc. Wallace was the son of the late Dewey & Anita (Witte) Nelson of Kewaunee. She then dedicated her life happily to being a homemaker. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and taking care of her flowers. Her most valued and treasured time was spent with family and friends. No one could top her German potato salad, chicken noodle soup, poppy seed torte, rhubarb torte, homemade fudge and frosted Christmas cookies. Nothing was better than her angel food birthday cakes made with love and topped off with her homemade frosting. Lois put everyone first before herself.

Survivors include two sons and their spouses: Rickey W. & Patti L. Nelson, Two Rivers, Robert L. & Robin G. Nelson, Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Amy L. (Ryan) Bauer, Two Rivers, Danielle M. Nelson & special friend Eddie, San Francisco, CA., Nathan R. (Claire) Nelson, Portland, OR; one great grandchild: Jazmyne L. Bauer, Two Rivers; and a brother: Dale A. Johnson, Neenah. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Wally, on October 17, 2000; a son: Randall Nelson; a brother: Wayne; two sisters: Shirley and Carol; and a sister-in-law: Margaret Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Lakeshore Methodist Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Carly Kuntz with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
