Funeral services for Virgil M. Reichert of El Reno were held Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald R. Hefta, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial with military honors was in the El Reno Cemetery. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Reichert died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at Parkview Hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Geary. Virgil retired from the U.S. Air Force after 25 years in 1962. He served in Japan during World War II and Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1947. He married Virgie Helton on Oct. 11, 1946, in Wellington, Kan. In 1962 he came to El Reno. After retirement from the armed services, he farmed and also had worked for the state highway department.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Everett Reichert, Lloyd Reichert, Floyd Reichert and Carl Reichert, an infant son and a nephew, Stanley Reichert.

He is survived by his wife, Virgie Chloe (Helton) Reichert of the home; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
