Ronald L. Bird, 63, died at Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital. He was a son of Donald and Mary King Bird. He married Margaret King on March 10, 1979, in Rossville, Illinois. She survives.

Survivors also include two brothers, Rick Bird and Steve Bird.

Mr. Bird worked for Howard Industries, Joan of Arc Canning and Decker Livestock. He retired from Schumacher Electric, Hoopeston, in 2000.

He graduated from Hoopeston High School in 1963.

Mr. Bird was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ and a volunteer at Country Terrace Assisted Living. He enjoyed going to Boswell on Saturday nights to race, the Illini, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
