He graduated from Hoopeston High School in 1963.
Mr. Bird was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ and a volunteer at Country Terrace Assisted Living. He enjoyed going to Boswell on Saturday nights to race, the Illini, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
