Dorothy Tribus, 84, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, in Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born in Kingston, daughter of the late Peter and Anne Yasenchak Brozusky.

Dorothy received her nursing degree from the Nesbitt School of Nursing and her BSNE from College Misericordia, and then went on to become the legendary OBGYN supervisor at the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, where she was instrumental in setting up childbirth classes and the natural birth program with Dr. William Hazlett.

She was also a very dedicated and active member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church for her entire life.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Tribus, and an infant grandson, Stephen.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen D. Tribus, Kingston; and Andy Tribus, Wyoming; daughters, Deborah Wachs, Kingston; Elaine Petro, Grants Pass, Ore.; and Deidre Tribus, Kingston; her brother, Peter Brozusky and his wife, Maryann, Lake Carey; grandson, Capt. Robert Petro, MD, stationed at WPAF; granddaughters, Katrina Marichal, Stephenie Bostic, Carrie Petro and Kaycee Foster; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerby Ave., Kingston, with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Church.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Edwardsville.
