Jean R. Carlton of 300 Division St, Creston died May 26 at the SUI hospital after a two year illness. He was born Aug. 7, 1884 in Ringgold Co., the son of David and Florence Jackson Carlton.

Dec. 25, 1910 he was married at Lenox to Goldie Alderson. He was preceded in death by a daughter Louise who died at 17, and a son Tom who was killed in action with the Marines in WW II.

Survivors include his widow, his mother-in-law, Mrs. Florence Minor and daughter-in-law, Ethel Brady.

Mr. Carlton was a farmer most of his life. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Creston and the Masonic Lodge of Clearfield.

Funeral services were at Benders May 29 with burial at Clearfield.
