Jimmy Lee Powell, age 80 entered into rest August 4, 2016 in Tallahassee. Jimmy was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma and had lived in Tallahassee for 52 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayden and Mary Powell and grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jason Powell. Jimmy retired from the State of Florida, Dept. of Management Services. He was previously employed with Burroughs Corp. Jimmy was a member of Bradfordville First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a humble servant of the Lord and the Lord’s work. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Voncille Powell; son Keith (Suzanne) Powell; daughter Amy (Andy) Walker; grandchildren Halie (Jeff) Pullen, Megan (Bo) Walker, Aaron Powell, Drew Walker; great-grandchildren Gabe and Ryan Pullen. A Celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7th at Bradfordville First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Florida Baptist Children’s Home Orphan Heart Missions or Bradfordville First Baptist Church Mission Fund.
