Obituary: Obituary Collection by Borden Historical Society, page 511, column 2, no newspaper or date given, reads: Mrs. Minnie Elizabeth Mahuron was born in Clark county May 20, 1895, the daughter of Francis and Caroline Lewellyn Pixley and died Mar. 29, 1975 at 4:10 p.m. at her home on Rt. 2, Pekin at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 9 days. Mrs. Mahuron was a faithful wife and mother, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at Pekin, and the widow of Gilbert Mahuron who died in 1958. Mrs. Mahuron is survived by two sons, Paul and Daniel Mahuron, both of Pekin; four daughters, Dora Doane of Henryville, Alice Brewer of Salem, Gladys Allen of Sellersburg, and Mabel Bower of Pekin; two brothers, John Pixley of Pekin, Bodine Pixley of Memphis, four sisters, Rosie VanGilder of Clarksville, Mary Russell of Salem, Lorene Brown of Sellersburg, and Olive Hazelwood of Pekin. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She had been in failing health for some time. Minnie was a faithful wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed not only by her family but by her many friends and neighbors.
