Obituary: Obituary Collection by Borden Historical Society, page 522, column 2, no newspaper given, dated 21 Oct 1973, reads: Funeral services for Charles F. Mathers, 73, of 12808 Highway 60 Memphis, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Daisy Hill United Methodist Church, Borden, with burial in the church cemetery. He died at 7:05 p.m. Monday at the Clark County Memorial Hospital. Mathers was a member of the Daisy Hill United Methodist church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Odd Fellows Lodge, all of Borden. He was a veteran of World War I and World War II. Survivors include his wife, Cora Belle Durham; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Dunlap, New Albany; one step-daughter, Mrs. Celeste Bierly, Borden; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Patton and Mrs. Naomi Moore, both of English and Mrs. Edna Lee, New Albany; one brother, George Mathers, Dayton, O; and four grandchildren. Friends may call at the Haas-Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, after 7:30 p.m. today, where Rebekah Lodge services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Daisy Hill Church Building Fund.

He had a brother Oliver and a sister Cora Mae. He also had a half-brother, George Wayne Mathers and two half-sisters, Edna Elizabeth Mathers and Naomi Frances Mathers.
