WILLIAM FRANCIS "BILL" PIXLEY, 87, formally of Pekin, died Saturday March 23, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House in Concord, North Carolina. Born on June 12, 1925 in Clark County, he was the son of the late John William Pixley and Ruth Hoke Pixley. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Baptist Church. He was a mechanic by trade, working at the Walter Cook's Garage of Salem, Indiana. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving as an Artillery Gunman. Survivors include one son, Larry William (Regina) Pixley; two daughters, Joyce Yvonne (Ken) Helms and Laura June Knight; two brothers, Erman Pixley and Gerald Pixley; three sisters, Fern Davis, Mildred Cunningham and Donna Morris; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: wife Juanita June Ray Pixley, one son, one brother, two sisters and one grandson. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Salem.
