Rites for Josiah Wesley
Josiah Wesley, born March 29, 1876 to William Green and Sarah Godbey Wesley at Bethelridge, Casey County, Ky., died April 13, 1967 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lena Wiles at Middleburg.
On November 19, 1895 he married Mary Susan Hines of Pulaski County. From their eleven children, eight survive: Mrs. Alma Jones, Eubank; Mrs. Delia Ashley, Radcliff; Mrs. Luella Watson, Bethelridge; Mrs. Esther Coffman, Glasgow; Mrs. Lena Wiles, Middleburg; Morris Wesley, Fairfield, Ohio; Mrs. Vestal Wesley, Hartwell, Ohio; and Mrs. Floris Garrett of Maude, Ohio.
He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cundiff of Liberty, Mrs. Ibby Dick of Science Hill, and Mrs. Anna Wardrip of Middleburg; 39 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. There are 153 descendants in all.
The Farris-Hislope Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Services were at the Bethelridge Methodist Church and Cemetery.
