He was a United States World War II veteran and an avid Bridge player. Mr. Carey was born April 24, 1922, in Highland Park, Michigan to Liguori and Lena (Dougherty) Carey. He is survived by his sons Gregory (Lori) Carey and Eric (Penny) Carey; his grandchildren Julie (Aaron) Steffka and David (Katelyn) Carey, his sisters Sr. Barbara Carey, Geraldine (Carey) Collins, Janet (Carey) Couzens; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor (Biernacki) and brothers Donald and Thomas.
