Lois Maxine Waters, 83, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016. Maxine was born May 7, 1933 to Jim Tom Mormon and Kitty Elizabeth Ellis Mormon in Collins, Arkansas.
In 1947 she was married to Dale Funderburk of Warren, Arkansas with whom she had two sons, Ron & Sherman (Butch).
In 1981 she married Bankston Waters of Helena, Arkansas and Bankston had a daughter, Susan and two sons, Edmond & Ralph.
She lived in Little Rock and Helena AR. after her marriages. Maxine was a loving mother and step-mother working in various jobs but mostly in clothing. She also worked with her husbands in several business adventures as a grocery store, Dress Shop and Motel. She loved to travel, cook and play golf. She was a member of Red Hatters and Eastern Star. Maxine was an active member of First Baptist Church of Helena, AR. before moving to Oklahoma City.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and brothers, and her late husbands, Dale Funderburk and Bankston Waters. She is survived by two sons, two step-sons, step-daughter and several grandchildren and great grandchildren, also family and friends too many to list.
Services will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home on August 13. 2016 (Saturday) at 11:30 A. M. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation 6:00-8:00 P. M, Friday, August 12, 2016 also at Roller-Citizens in West Helena.
The family would like to thank the staff and many friends she made in her stay at Baptist Village Community in Oklahoma City. Also to the staff, doctors and nurses at Fountains of Cantaberry in Oklahoma City. A very special thanks to her caregivers at the fountains. She loved all of you very much and God Bless you for what you do.
We love you and will miss you Mom but we know you are in a better place.
