SCRIBA - Donald F Gilbert, 64, husband of Katherine Coe Gilbert and a resident of Twin Orchard Drive, Scriba, died this morning at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital. Syracuse.
Mr Gilbert was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Orlie and Mabel Buske Gilbert He was educated in Oswego schools.
Mr Gilbert, for many years, was owner and operator of Horn Taxi Co. in Oswego.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Gilbert was a member of the Oswego Lodge of Elks, the Moose Club and also served as a member of the board of directors of the Port of Oswego Authority.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Katnerine, are a son, Donald Gilbert Jr. of Albany, two sisters. Mrs. Dominic (Norma) Canale of Scriba and Mrs. Malcolm tArlene) Parkhurst of Scriba: and two granddaughters, Jessica and Emily
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Dain Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. from St. Louis Church. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
