Mary Ann Remer, age 65, of Waverly, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Mary Ann was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., the daughter of Ray and Mary (Korb) Berrum. She graduated from Notre Dame McDonell Memorial High School, Chippewa Falls, in 1950.
On Sept. 21, 1957, Mary Ann and Walter Remer were joined in holy marriage in Chippewa Falls. God blessed their marriage with eight children.
Mary Ann loved her family very much and was always there for them. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, flowers and fishing.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly.
Mary Ann is survived by husband, Walter F. Remer; her children: Pauline Mayfield of Vinita, Okla., Laureen (Dan) Karnes of St. Cloud, Bonita "Bonnie" Remer of Clear Lake, Michael Remer of Maple Lake and Jody Bentz, Mary Lou Williams of Bartlesville, Okla., Theodore "Ted" Remer of Clearwater and Tammy Grasswick, and Matthew Remer of Rushford and financee Cindy Johnson; and grandchildren, Joshua, Jessie, Tanya; Ryan, Ashley and Amber; Lindsey; Jeremiah and Jason.
She is further survived by brothers, Homer (Eileen) Berrum of Livingston, Mont., and Dick (Barb) Berrum of Superior, Wis.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Isabelle (Marvin) Lindenberg of Howard Lake, Eleanor (Otto) Birkholz of Waverly; Gertrude (Edward) Lyrek Sr of Montrose, Margaret Huhn of Litchfield, Rose Ann (John) Moore of Edina, Aggie (Ray) Yurek of Silver Lake and Marcy (Leon) Wickenhauser of Cologne; an aunt; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Renee Remer; an infant son, Stephen Remer; son, Terry Lee Remer on Dec. 6, 1998; and by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, Jan. 13, 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly. The Rev. Robert Wiley was the celebrant.
Casket bearers were Tom Brummer, Jason Karnes, Jeremiah Karnes, Ryan Remer, Jesse Remer and Robert Lyrek.
Friends called from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at the Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted.
