M. Sgt. Lester E. Anderson, 37, died Saturday (Feb. 18, 1961) at Fort Hood, Tex., after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church, 1904 Winnebago St., with Dr. Ernes B. Steen, pastor, officiating.

Friends may call at the Gunderson funeral home, 5203 Monona Ave., after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

A veteran of 19 years with the Army, Sgt. Anderson spent 14 years overseas.

He is survived by his wife, Sonja; a son Erick; his father Hans K. and six sisters, Mrs. Mertin Dauck, Cross Plains; Mrs. Oscar Ramesfield, DeForest, Mrs. Robert Borgrud, Marshall; Mrs. Floyd Normington, Rockford, Ill.; Shirley and Dorothy, Madison.

Other survivors include five brothers, Phillip, Deerfield; Harvey, Russell, Howard and Harry all of Madison.
