Thomas R. Hoffman, age 64, passed away on August 8, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Joanne R. (Dehoff) Hoffman for over 45 years.

Tom was born in York on November 21, 1951 and graduated from Spring Grove High School, class of 1969. He completed an apprenticeship to become a Journeyman Maintenance Machinist.

He also worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in York for a couple of years. He started T.R. Hoffman Paving and Hauling in 1980 and owned and operated it for many years. He was a former York New Salem baseball coach and a past president of Spring Grove Boys Club. He enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing. He was also a member of Spring Grove VFW, Prince Athletic Club in York, Viking Athletic Club, Hanover Moose Lodge and Spring Grove Sportsman Club.

In addition to his wife, Joanne, he is survived by his daughter, Michele Hamme and husband, Bud of York; his son, Travis Hoffman and wife, Jessica of Spring Grove; and his grandchildren, Kaleb, Kari, Caitlin, Lexi and Tanner, who lovingly called him "Wowo". He is also survived by his mother, Pearl (Wisenall) Hoffman; his sisters, Lydia Altland and husband, Greg of York and Beth Ginder and husband, Rick of York; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn Hoffman.

Following cremation, a memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Lischey's United Church of Christ, 5671 Lischey's Church Rd., Spring Grove, with the Rev. Kathy Seiler officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Peter Lischey's U.C.C., 5671 Lischey's Church Rd., Spring Grove PA 17362.
