JUNE M. YOUNG

June Young, age 85, died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at the Sun Parlor Home for
Seniors in Leamington, Ontario, Canada.
June was born in Bristol, England, as June Madeline Henley. She was a veteran
of World War II and served in the Woman's Branch of the Royal Navy until the
end of 1945. She met her husband while they were members of a Naval Air Squadron
in the South of England and were married on Dec. 6, 1945, the start of a 62-year
adventure. In November of 1956, she joined her husband in emigrating to Ontario,
Canada, residing throughout Quebec and Ontario, until moving to the United States
in 1968 and settling in Two Rivers. A home was maintained in Two Creeks while work
commitments led June and Fred through Connecticut, Arizona, Oregon and Michigan.
In 1984, they retired to their home in Two Creeks. June was diagnosed with
Alzheimer's in 1996 and remained at her home in Two Creeks until entering Sun
Parlor in 2002. Despite her increasing disability, she communicated her abundant
good nature and cheerfulness and found a place in the hearts of all those around
her. Her daughter and husband were by her side at the time of her death. Her
enthusiastic laughter, free spirit and loving nature embraced all those she
encountered. Earth's creatures have lost a caring friend, and her family will
miss her special embrace. She was their reminder of what beauty there is in the
simplicity of life.
She is survived by husband: Fred, most recently of Glendale and Two Creeks; two
sons: Michael and Robert, of Toronto, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta, respectively;
and a daughter: Penny, Shorewood. Her spirit lives on in six grandchildren: Tegan
and Morgan Nilles; Sarah and Christa Young; and Angus and Adam Young.
At her bequest, cremation will occur in Ontario. A private gathering of immediate
family will memorialize her death and celebrate her long life. Tributes may be
made in her memory to The Salvation Army. The memory of her will be part of our
lives as long as we may live.
