LONE OAK -Leo Elliott, lifelong resident of Lone Oak who for the past four years served as Justice of the Peace of Precinct 5, died at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday at his Lone Oak residence.

Greenville Justice of the Peace Homer Wacasey held an inquest at the residence, 205 Olive and ruled death to an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services wills be at 3 p.m Sunday at the First Methodist Church in Lone Oak with the Rev. Francis Sayles, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charles Hart of Lone Oak. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.

He was born Dec. 17, 1898, in Commerce, the son of Jim L. and Amy Hunt Elliott, pioneer residents of Lone Oak. On Sept. 5, 1926 he married the former Louise Ende of Greenville who survives.

Mr. Elliott was a graduate of Lone Oak High School and attended Wesley College. He was a member of the Lone Oak Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 307.

The peace justice was a longtime funeral director and had operated the Elliott Funeral Home in Lone Oak for there past 12 years until failing health forced his retirement.

Survivors include the widow, one son, Leo Elliott Jr. of Pecos; a daughter, Mrs. Dortha Burk of Lone Oak; two brothers, Jerry Elliott of Loveland and T.E. (Tince) Elliott of Royse City; and seven grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Rudd Hughes, Henry Bailey, M.V. Corley, Glenn Rabb, Orville Smart, Pete Abbott, Don Bellah and Fred Trimble.

Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.
