A nationally known plastic surgeon. He was portayed in the 1984 T.V. movie "Why Me?" by Armand Assante. The movie tells the story of how he saved the life of a patient named Leola Mae Harmon, who's face was badly disfigured in an auto accident. They fell in love and later married, the marriage lasted five years. He later started his own Plastic Surgery Institute in 1972.
In 1987 he was diagnosed with Epstein - Barr virus. In Sept 1991 he commited sucide by fatally shooting himself in his Iowa home. His suicide note said that his disease had hampered his work for almost a year.
