RICHMOND MOTHER IS PROUD OF FOUR SONS IN U.S. SERVICES
With four of her five sons in the service of Uncle Sam, Mrs. Bessie L. Baughan of 1500 North Nineteenth St., yesterday said she was mighty proud of the contribution her family is making to win the war.
Furthermore she said, all her children volunteered, and Clarence, her oldest boy, is a veteran of 10 years of army service and is now serving as a warrant officer in Puerto Rico. He is 29 years of age.
Leslie C. Baughan, 23, has six years of army service to his credit and is now a corporal overseas.
Leith E. Baughan, 25, is an aviation machinist's mate third class at the Naval Air Station at Jacksonville, Fla., having entered the navy service last August.
Her youngest son, John T. Baughan, 21, entered the army two years ago and is an aviation cadet at Chico, Calif.
Although Claude, 28, volunteered but was not accepted, he is patiently awaiting the draft and some day Mrs. Baughan, a widow for 21 years, will be able to add a fifth star to her family service flag.
