Herman Armour Nichols, fifty- four, a former resident of Rye died Saturday at the Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital New York City. He was fifty-four years old and a resident of the Hotel Marguery New York at the time of his death. Mr Nichols, until recently resident of Rye, was a well known yachtsman and sportsman and was formerly a member of the Board of Governors of the American Yacht Club Rye. He was the son of the late William Gilman Nichols and Mary Armour Nichols who had resided on Grace Church Street. Mr Nichols is survived by his wife Jean Pillar Nichols and four children by a former marriage, Herman Armour Nichols Jr., Lolita Nichols Lucille Nichols and Lorraine Nichols, and by a sister Mrs Warren A Ransom of 2 Forest Avenue, Rye at 'whose residence funeral services will be conducted.
