Jesse Adams lived on a farm in Canton, Buffalo, Wisconsin with his wife Mary (Marit Anderson) and 4 children, Martin Edward, Abel A., Anna Clara and Jesse Olaus. A family story says that sometime after Thanksgiving, probably in 1874, Jesse left to "go north" for work and was never seen or heard from again. Mary married Henry Edward Brotzman in January 1878.
