My Aunt Kate fought breast cancer from 1994 to 2003. If I could have the great attitude and spunk she had, I'd be a better person. Even when the chemotherapy made her sick as a dog, she had a great sense of humor. When she lost her hair, she loved wearing her wigs! She looked at it as never having a bad hair day. If she chose her blonde wig ("I can be Marliyn today!") or her red wig ("I can be Tammy Faye now!"), she made it fun. When her hair came back it was black and curly with a few flecks of grey. Aunt Kate had dyed her hair black (her natural color) but after the chemo it stayed coal black. I never once heard her complain about being sick except she couldn't taste anything except cream of chicken soup and watermelon. A too strong dose of chemotherapy took her life, but at times I can feel her sun-shiny spirit when I feel like complaining.
